This will be followed by a Q&A and then a short session on what it's really like to work at a start up for those looking to get into it. I will give a personal take on what it's like to work in both a large corporate and a start up, in my talk 'From Corporate to Start Up'

INITION
Limited Capacity filling up

Harnessing immersive technologies for a new way of communication

VR is a novelty medium that allows complete immersion for the user. Since the cognitive and the experiential happen simultaneously, communication is richer and clearer. Everyone calls it the “empathy machine” but I would stay away from the “empathy” word and call it a “deep sense” medium. In VR, narrative goes from being linear to non-linear - a model we're still exploring and defining. We're creating a unique vocabularly that works specifically for the medium. This opens up new ways of storytelling, or the more recently coined term "story living". VR allows you to escape your own world and understand what others may be going through. It will be the gateway for understanding the life paradigms of other people.

Learn How to Build Neural Networks by Teens in AI

Neural networks have risen in popularity in the past few years due them performing better than any other computer algorithms. The implication of this is that older computer applications will be replaced with ever higher performing counter-parts, sparking an AI arms race between competitive companies at first, then between countries.

Will you be leading this race, or will you follow and adapt?

Join Teens In AI to learn how to create a neural network using Keras and Tensorflow, the same tools used by the tech giants to maximise their impact. We will go through some simple Maths behind how we simulate the operation of the brain with Deep Learning and learn about how this is applied to everyday life today.

Disrupting giants: How HotelTonight revolutionized online hotel distribution with a mobile-only approach

Donnie Schumann, our EMEA head of strategic partnerships, will walk you through HotelTonight's journey and how our founders used a mobile first approach to grow into the world's third largest online distributor of hotel rooms. HotelTonight recently had to face a series of exciting challenges: international expansion and raising overall brand awareness in the face of giant competitors like Booking.com and Expedia. Donnie will highlight how the company reached profitability in 2016, expanded in EMEA, and where HotelTonight is headed next.

When you arrive, press the buzzer with the name "HotelTonight". Then, they need to take the lift up to Floor 3. Once on floor 3, there is a door on the right hand-side that leads directly into the office. We will have someone from our team welcoming attendees right inside that door.
