Harnessing immersive technologies for a new way of communication

VR is a novelty medium that allows complete immersion for the user. Since the cognitive and the experiential happen simultaneously, communication is richer and clearer. Everyone calls it the “empathy machine” but I would stay away from the “empathy” word and call it a “deep sense” medium. In VR, narrative goes from being linear to non-linear - a model we're still exploring and defining. We're creating a unique vocabularly that works specifically for the medium. This opens up new ways of storytelling, or the more recently coined term "story living". VR allows you to escape your own world and understand what others may be going through. It will be the gateway for understanding the life paradigms of other people.
